Hawaii's Kilauea volcano is really mad now!
Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano is really mad now! She’s gone from spitting lava to cannon balling lava at folks.
Kilauea has already lashed out at several businesses and homes. And at the rate she’s going, she may just tear down the town.
Hopefully, that doesn’t occur but it is not looking good. According to United States Geological Survey’s (USGS) Twitter post, 19 fissures, cracks, have opened up.
It has also been reported that there have been several more earthquakes around Kilauea volcano.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that if the earth is moving and shaking things a loose then there are going to be cracks or big gaping holes in that which the earth has shaken a loose.
In this case, the earthquakes are shaking Kilauea volcano a loose. Due to all of this carrying on, the emergency orders put in place by the state and local governments are still in effect.
No stealing, flying of aircraft with or without people, and no visiting of property without permission.
Folks still have to worry about possible toxic gas like sulfur dioxide, thick smoke, lava, and volcanic ashes.
The thing about all of this is that unlike a hurricane, there is no warning for when this stuff starts to take over. It just happens. So the best thing to do is to just move, get out of the way!
I’m sure there are those of you who are asking, “Why can’t Kilauea just calm down. She’s been mad for two weeks now come Thursday?"
I don’t know why her panties are all in a bunch. But I do know that according to the Hawaiians, the volcano goddess, Madam Pele, tends to let off a little steam every once and a while.
And right now, it is looking like one of those whiles when the goddess is letting off her steam.
